I’ve had a lot of good experience with Jerry, Eric and the crew at Hjeltness Restoration. Our ‘56 Gullwing has been serviced there since the early ‘90s and has the Hjeltness air-conditioning system which appears as if Mercedes-Benz had designed it for factory installation. The Gullwing was professionally repaired and repainted after an unfortunate incident which caused major body damage; it looks like a new car now. Our ’59 Roadster underwent a total body-off restoration there more than 20 years ago. Even after much activity with it, including nearly 4,000 miles of driving, it still looks as if it were just completed and is still highly competitive at important car shows. The paint work on both cars is absolutely outstanding, attesting to the high level of skill and dedication of the two guys who have been doing the paint work there for a long time. All of the work I’ve seen done there has never been less than the best, both mechanically and cosmetically, and I know from first-hand experience that they stand behind it. We continue to have our two 300SLs serviced there and can recommend them to anyone.
